Superstar
Scored some awesome tickets for Jesus Christ Superstar! The front of the first balcony is by far the best place to sit in my opinion. I think they did a really nice job, this cast. I've seen the show several times, and each one has been quite different. Biggest drawback to this run is the lack of orchestra--everything is done with 2-3 keyboards, a full set, and two guitars. Judas was played by a black guy in this version, too, which I think completely hilights the character. Get tickets before they're gone. It's about last seven days in the life of Jesus, envisioned as a groovy rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Semi-controversial when it was first produced in 1971, "Superstar" is now widely seen as a positive affirmation of Christian faith that also works as a straight-ahead musical even for infidels!
